HOT STAMP LOGO INFORMATION
Viking LLC uses a hot stamp machine to apply a logo to the Viking Bowl faceplates, and dispenser unit labels. This starts with good artwork from the customer. Keep in mind that Viking is not an art/design shop we are a chemical dispenser manufacturer. We take the copy we get from you and send it to a company who does the tooling for the stamp. We have tried to accommodate customers in the past by photocopying, cutting and pasting a logo from a business card and having a tool made from it. The end result was typically not as good as it would look having been made with camera ready copy as the source artwork. Some things to keep in mind in helping us get your logo done:
1. Most customers have a tool made for both the Viking Bowl and the unit labels. The size of these stamps fits within the 1.00” high X 1.75” wide maximum parameters laid out in the PDF drawings of the labels and Viking Bowl faceplate. Some customers who have no use for bowls, ones who only buy Drain pumps from us for example, may get a slightly larger (width) label. However going too big can make the finished hot stamped label not look as sharp as it should.
2. The hot stamping on the polycarbonate unit labels is NOT indelible. Long-term exposure to steam and moisture can weaken the imprint and make it smudge. Harsh cleaning chemicals, and some mild ones like Fantastic, can smudge or ruin the imprint. Some customers have simply had their own labels made which they apply to the unit or unit label during installation. The hot stamped imprint on the Viking Bowl faceplate is more resistant to smudging and the affects of steam and chemical.
3. There is a one time tooling charge of $190.00. This charge is per tool if you wanted different product names or a different stamp for bowls and units. Applying the impression on a label for an electronic dispenser is no charge. The charge per Viking Bowl faceplate is $1.66.
4. Too much in the space will look bad. Trying to fit the logo, company name, address, phone number, website and more will look terrible in a hot stamp. A simple logo and maybe a phone number usually looks best.
5. We have a variety of different colors to choose from. Your hot stamp logo will be one color only! Imprints will not be multicolored. You can use one color on dispenser labels and a different color on Viking Bowls. We do have the faceplates in different colors so this too can be utilized to accomplish the desired combination.
6. If possible, have the camera-ready copy of your logo or design that you want done at four times larger normal size. This will make for a better tool. The copy does not have to be small - the tool shop can shrink or enlarge the artwork to make it fit our size requirements.
7. E-mailing artwork from your advertising company or the company that prints your letterhead and business cards is the best and easiest way to do this. Email them to us at
jwhittaker@viking-inejctor.com
or kurban@viking-injector.com
- we will take it from there.
8. From the time we get the artwork there is a 2-3 week lead-time to turn the tool around with our vendor.
